Dr. Ashwin A. Patkar is Chief of Avance Psychiatry and Adjunct Professor of Psychiatry at Rush University Medical Center, Chicago. He was formerly Professor of Psychiatry and Community and Family Medicine at Duke University Medical Center in North Carolina.
Dr. Patkar has over 30 years of clinical and scientific experience in psychopharmacology, addiction, dual diagnoses, and integration of medical care for psychiatric disorders. Dr. Patkar is certified in psychiatry, addiction psychiatry, addiction medicine, and pain medicine. Dr. Patkar has been listed in the Best Doctors in America continuously since 2009-2020.
Dr. Patkar has published over 275 scientific articles, 6 book chapters, and has given over 400 presentations and invited lectures at national and international meetings. He is a distinguished fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), distinguished fellow of the American Psychiatry Association (APA), president of North Carolina Chapter of ASAM, the past president of the Indo-American Psychiatric Association, and member of the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry, American Academy of Pain Medicine, Indian Psychiatric Society, Royal College of Psychiatrists, and World Psychiatric Association. Dr. Patkar is married with two children and enjoys fishing, yoga, squash, and cricket.
Dr. Bharati Palkhiwala is a board-certified psychiatrist and a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association with over 45 years of private practice experience across Bergen, Rockland, and Essex County. Specializing in psychopharmacology and individual psychotherapy, she treats a comprehensive range of psychiatric disorders, including acute anxiety, panic disorders, and chronic mental illnesses such as depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. her clinical expertise is grounded in her work as an investigator for major multi-center clinical drug trials and over 15 years as a Clinical Assistant Professor and supervising psychiatrist at New Bridge Medical Center and UMDNJ, where she mentored the next generation of medical professionals.
A prominent leader in the medical and humanitarian communities, Dr. Palkhiwala has served as the President of the North Jersey Psychiatric Society, a Trustee for the New Jersey Psychiatric Association, and Chairperson of the Women’s Committee for the APA’s West Hudson Branch (1994–1996). She also held executive roles as Treasurer and Newsletter Editor for the Indo-American Psychiatric Association (IAPA) from 1996 to 2000. Her humanitarian legacy is defined by her tenure as President of the Association of Indians in America (AIA) New Jersey Chapter (2000–2002) and her current role as an AIA National Member at Large. She famously provided psychiatric support following the 9/11 tragedy and participated in global relief efforts for the 2001 Earthquake and the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami.
Dr. Palkhiwala is the recipient of the Wynona M. Lipman Award and the 2023 Bergen County Award for Outstanding Community Service. Throughout her distinguished career, she has remained a steadfast advocate for mental health awareness, interfaith understanding, and expanding healthcare access for underserved communities.
Giorgio Chatelain, LCSW-R, is pscyhotherapist and clinical leader with more than 20 years of experience across inpatient, outpatient, integrated care, and private practice settings. Over the past 15 years, he has held senior clinical and operational leadership roles, specializing in the development, implementation, and scaling of integrated behavioral health and Collaborative Care (CoCM) programs within complex healthcare systems.
Giorgio’s leadership is grounded in driving program innovation, improving care delivery, and aligning clinical excellence with operational performance. He has led multidisciplinary teams, developed workforce strategies, and implemented data-driven approaches to enhance access, quality, and outcomes in behavioral health. His work consistently emphasizes sustainable program growth, cross-functional collaboration, and system-level impact.
Alex Bachman is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor with a strong clinical focus in the assessment and treatment of substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. He has extensive experience delivering individual, group, and family psychotherapy across diverse populations, with an emphasis on evidence-based, outcomes-driven care.
Alex utilizes established clinical modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to address complex behavioral health needs. His clinical work includes comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, diagnostic formulation using DSM-5 criteria, and the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans. He is experienced in managing high-acuity cases, monitoring patient progress, and coordinating care across multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity, safety, and sustained recovery outcomes.
Prior to joining Zenora Health, Alex served as Program Coordinator at Intervention Specialists, where he provided direct clinical services, including assessment, psychotherapy, and case management, while also overseeing program development.
Alex earned his Master of Social Work, specializing in Clinical Social Work, from Rutgers University, where he graduated Cum Laude, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Rutgers University. He has been recognized for his clinical contributions, including receiving the Union County Recovery Court Hero Award. He is committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care that promotes long-term recovery and improved mental health outcomes.
